Chipping edge repair
Rough handling of the glass can lead to minor damage, such as a nip on the top of the glass. The glass is then unusable, due to the sharp edges of the broken glass. If you want to keep using it, you have to sand the edge until the cavity disappears. If an object of a decorative nature has been chipped, you have to make a decision, is it worth sanding it.
Edge grinding
1 Stick a fine-grained waterproof sandpaper to an even, flat surface. Dip the glass rim in the water, then rub against the paper in a circular motion.
2 Round the polished edges evenly with sandpaper wrapped around a pencil or stick. Polish with a miniature polishing wheel.
